Citizen/Member Outreach
An informed and engaged citizenry is essential to our democracy.
For over thirty years, The NewsHour has informed American citizens
by delivering news with the highest non-partisan journalistic
standards. And for the past ten, MacNeil/Lehrer Productions has
engaged citizens in the issues affecting their towns and nation
and created participatory forums to make their voices heard.
MLP is a leading force in the creation of public forums - some
televised, others not - that engage local citizens, elected officials,
community groups, the press, educational institutions and government
agencies in civic dialogue. Whether the focus is trade agreements,
immigration policies, health care or another of the many topics
featured at our forums, we exercise the same non-partisan journalistic
standards as The NewsHour.
MLP builds participation in its civic engagement projects through
earned media and ads in local newspapers, public radio and television,
and a full palette of promotional strategies. We measure and report
public opinion through scientifically valid focus groups, surveys
and polls. And we make citizens' voices heard through talk radio
programs, town hall meetings, discussion groups led by expert
panels, remote teleconferences and more.
Whether your project includes a traveling museum exhibit, an
educational initiative or a town hall meeting, we can build it
into the socially transformative experience you envision. We provide
all facilities, equipment, panel speakers, event organizing and
other services, from conceptualization to cleanup.
Let MacNeil/Lehrer Productions deepen your impact and expand
your reach with our extensive experience, cutting-edge technology
and historic commitment to the highest professional standards.
